Members of a criminal group, specialized in transporting Ukrainian citizens across the border were detained in Transcarpathia.

The criminals were exposed by a joint interdepartmental group consisting of employees of the internal security of the Mukachevo border detachment of the State Border Guard Service "Zahid", the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Mukachevo District Prosecutor's Office.

As part of an open criminal proceeding based on signs of a crime, law enforcement officers exposed the organizer and two of his accomplices, who set up a channel for the transfer of conscripted men abroad.

The perpetrators were found when they were delivering three fugitives from mobilization to the border. They are going to receive 9,000 US dollars.

Moreover, the law enforcement officers found out that two of three arrested smugglers were already on probation. They were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and served with a notice of suspicion that they had committed a crime. The other day, the Mukachevo City and District Court ordered two of the suspects to be detained for 60 days with the right to pay cash in the amount of 187,000 hryvnias, and their accomplice to 24-hour house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

If the suspects are found guilty, they face imprisonment from seven to nine years in prison.
