The other day, a serviceman from one of the units of the Chop border detachment was detained while taking a bribe.

A joint interdepartmental group, consisting of representatives of the internal and personal security department of the Chop border detachment, employees of the DSSU in the Zakarpattia region and the Territorial Department of the SBI, under the procedural guidance of the Zakarpattia specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere of the Western region and the assistance of the border detachment authority, documented the receiving of the second part of a bribe by a serviceman in the amount of 3100 US dollars.

According to the previous agreement, the serviceman was supposed to assist in the illegal transportation of three military age citizens of Ukraine and tobacco products across the Ukrainian-Slovak border. Previously, the briber has already taken 1,550 US dollars.

The serviceman was detained and placed at the guardhouse. He was charged with criminal offenses and suspended from his duties.
