Border guards of the Mukachevo detachment and customs officers prevented an attempt to illegally transport cigarettes to Romania.

A 49-year-old Ukrainian citizen who arrived at the checkpoint in a Mercedes car attempted to illegally transport tobacco products. In the structural cavities of the rear fenders and under the decorative trim of the vehicle's luggage compartment, the inspection team found 385 packs of cigarettes.

The cigarettes and the 2011 car were confiscated from the Transcarpathian resident. The estimated value of the cigarettes is currently being determined.
