Border guards of the Chop unit found a batch of electronic cigarettes at the "Uzhhorod" checkpoint, which the driver attempted to smuggle into Ukraine without undergoing proper inspection.

The microbus, a Ukrainian-registered "Mercedes," was driven by a 27-year-old resident of Zakarpattia. Based on risk assessment, law enforcement officers suspected a possible attempt to transport prohibited or restricted items across the state border. During the vehicle inspection, border guards, in collaboration with customs officials, found 550 foreign-made electronic cigarettes concealed in the baggage compartment. These cigarettes were hidden among personal belongings in bags.

Officials from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine in the Zakarpattia region arrived at the checkpoint. They confiscated the cigarettes and the microbus used for transportation, documenting the incident with an inspection protocol. The driver's actions are considered to have signs of a criminal offense.
