Borderguards of the Luhansk borderguard detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus in cooperation with representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Migration Police Department of the Main Department of the National Polic

In particular last night in Milovsky district of Luhansk region borderguards in cooperation with representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Migration Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Luhansk region detained five men near the border. The driver is a citizen of Uzbekistan. There were four passengers in the car. Three of them are Azerbaijani citizens and one Georgian citizen. They all were driving in the direction of the state border.

According to law enforcement officers, by prior arrangement, the passengers paid the driver for “services” of their illegal transportation across the border from Ukraine to Russia.

All those who wanted to cross the state border illegally were united by one thing - a ban on entering Russia. Following the instructions of the person who provided such "services", the men went to the place where the ferryman was waiting for them. Hoping that in the dark borderguards will lose their vigilance, the driver confidently moved to his destination. However, the illegal trip of foreigners was interrupted on the approaches to the border. The case has been passed on to court.

By the way, the driver, a citizen of Uzbekistan, faces criminal liability. A pre-trial investigation on the fact of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine has been initiated. Measures are being taken to identify those who may be involved.
