In the course of the working trip to Volyn region, President Petro Poroshenko visited  international automobile checkpoint "Yahodyn" and got acquainted with the carrying capacity across the border in this area.

During the trip, Petro Poroshenko examined the checkpoint, which is one of the biggest on the border with Poland and defined tasks in order  to create appropriate conditions for the citizens of  Ukraine, especially in the context of the introduction of visa-free regime with the EU. Also, he checked the working conditions of servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and employees of the  State Fiscal Service.

It should be noted,  that the "Yahodyn - Dorohusk"  checkpoint was opened in 1993 and this direction is the shortest way from Kyiv to Warsaw.

The President inquired about the number of vehicles that were waiting to cross the border and held a meeting in order to remove obstacles for the registration of trucks and elimination of  queues. The Head of the State emphasized that an efficient control must be ensured.
