In the Black Sea port, border guards and customs officers found another hidden amber shipment, this time in two vehicles.

The officials of the State Border Guard Service continue to effectively counteract the illegal movement of smuggled goods across the state border of Ukraine.

In the Black Sea port, border guards and customs officers found another hidden amber shipment, this time in two vehicles.

Border guards were clearing cargo vehicles for exit to Turkey. Two Turkish-registered trucks loaded with “timber” arrived for border control. However, in each trailer of these vehicles law enforcement officers found three plastic bags with ready-made amber products, which were carefully hidden among the pallets of wood.

The drivers of these trucks, both Turkish citizens, tried to smuggle “sunstone” jewellery out of Ukraine.

In total, border guards received 6 plastic bags with ready-made amber products from the trailers. The total weight of the found amounts to 5.2 kg.

The precious stones have been duly seized and handed over to the customs.
