The head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine made a working trip to the Sumy region. He visited the Ukrainian-Russian section of the border and checked the performance of tasks by the border guard units.

Serhii Deineko inspected the places where the border guards are on guard duty, and the measures taken to strengthen this direction in order to repel an attack in the event of a possible re-invasion of the enemy.

The head of the service noted that the situation remains tense but under control. There is no change in the aggressor's actions. Despite the absence of a strike group for the invasion, units of the russian army continue to shell the border area of the Sumy region every day using artillery and aviation. However, border guards together with other defense forces of Ukraine, are taking all necessary measures to strengthen the border.

"The border guards of the Sumy border guard detachment did a lot for our state to be protected, so that the enemy left. I am very grateful that in these difficult conditions the border guards continue to defend the country and have remained true, courageous defenders of their country," noted the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

During the work, Serhii Deineko discussed the situation at the border in details with the heads of bodies of the State Border Guard Service and border guard units. He also openly talked with border guards regarding their conditions of stay, provision and urgent needs.

It was emphasized that due to constant shelling, the Sumy area is no less dangerous than other directions and the safety of personnel remains a priority.

"The defense of the state depends on the work of border guards. However, the enemy is insidious, constantly shells rockets and artillery to damage Ukrainian defenders, and therefore the preservation of the lives of our defenders must be ensured constantly," the agency head noted.

Serhii Deineko noted the effective work on arranging the positions and added that the border guards clearly understand the tasks, clearly understand where and in which sections to use the border details, and carry out all the necessary measures to strengthen the border and arrange shelters.
