The authorities found that a 28-year-old female resident of Kyiv was procuring drugs and psychotropic substances from abroad.

Operational officers of Lviv Border Guard Detachment acting in cooperation with the representatives of National Police Department for Combating Drug Crimes in Lviv region, the Operational Unit of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Violations of Customs Regulations in Lviv region, detectives of the Investigation Department of the MDNP First Lviv Regional Police Department in Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Galician District Prosecutor's Office in Lviv, exposed a criminal group that had established a smuggling channel for the supply of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in particularly large quantities from EU countries..

The offender transported “parcels” by regular bus to Ukraine, disguising the psychotropic substances as food products. After receiving the goods, her accomplice, a 25-year-old resident of Lviv, organized the distribution of drugs via the Telegram channel. The man also sold psychotropic drugs in bulk in a hidden form, using logistics companies throughout Ukraine. The payment for psychotropic substances was made by non-cash method using cryptocurrencies.

During the authorized searches at the places of residence of the criminals, law enforcement officers found and seized 12,970 pills of different colors, resembling the psychotropic substance MDMA, a crystal-like substance weighing about 1950 grams, a psychotropic substance ketamine weighing about 580 grams, 3000 brands of the psychotropic substance LSD, as well as other items indicating involvement in illegal activities.

The value of the seized items on the ‘black’ market is estimated at about 16 million UAH.

The suspects were detained and charged. The court has ordered their detention without the right to post bail.
