State border guards as part of the Defense Forces continue to carry out control and inspection measures and combat illegal arms trafficking.

The other day, border guards stopped a car at one of the checkpoints. It was driven by a citizen of Ukraine. During the inspection of the car, law enforcement officers found a hunting carbine and cartridges for it. The man could not confirm the legality of their transportation. According to the citizen, the weapons and ammunition belong to his acquaintance, who asked to transport them.

Currently, the person and the weapon have been handed over to the National Police for taking a further legal decision.
