A group of smugglers, who were trying to get to Romania with a load of cigarettes, were exposed last night by border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment.

The violators were found, according to the Chernivtsi detachment's operative unit, not far from from the border.

Noticing the servicemen, unknown people left their cigarette packs and fled.

During a search of the area adjacent to the border, border guards of the Selyatyn department found almost 4.5 thousand packs of cigarettes. All tobacco products were without excise tax stamps.

Currently, the excisable goods have been delivered to the border unit, and the cigarettes will be handed over to the National Police. The persons involved in this offense are being identified.
