In particular, tonight during the implementation of advanced information and the participation of members of operational units of Chernivtsi detachment together with military personnel of the type “C” department of the border guard service detained a Mitsubishi S.U.V. of British registration. Border guards stopped the car 2.5 km from the border with Romania, in the area of responsibility of the department “Krasnoilsk”. There were three Bukovynians in the car. The trunk of the cross-country vehicle was filled with tobacco products.

It’s worth noting that the persons tried to escape during their detention. Therefore the border guards had to make several warning shots up and towards the vehicle. National Police officers were called to the scene.

The S.U.V. and the detainees were taken to Krasnoilsk department where the reports were drawn up against the men for deliberate disobedience to the State Border Guard Service officials and for illegal transportation of excisable goods.

5,200 packs of tobacco products will be handed over to Bukovynian customs officers. The preliminary sum is about 200 thousand hryvnias.
