Four illegal migrants were detained by border guards due to the implementation received from officers of the main operative-search department of the Mukachevo detachment.

At first, servicemen of the Luzhanka department on the outskirts of the village of Astei found a man without documents. The detainee called himself a citizen of the Republic of Ghana. This information is currently being verified. Border guards are also identifying individuals who may be involved in an attempt to smuggle an African across the border.

Three more illegal migrants and their probable smugglers were detained by border guards of the Luzhanka division and officers of the operative-search department of the Mukachevo detachment, together with patrol police officers. Checking the operational information on the possible movement of illegals, law enforcement officers stopped a Mercedes Sprinter on the outskirts of the village of Yanoshi, Berehiv district, in which, in addition to the driver, a citizen of Ukraine, there were four other male passengers. One of them had a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, three others did not have any documents, but reported that they were citizens of Sri Lanka. The foreigners also admitted that they intended to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border illegally and later enter Germany.

All detainees were taken to the border unit to draw up reports on administrative offenses and filter measures.

By the way, during the past 24hrs, another Turkish citizen was detained by border guards of the Rava-Ruska department in the Lviv region. The response team of the border unit stopped a traveler who was walking to Poland a few hundred meters before the state border. The 20-year-old Turkish citizen entered Ukraine quite legally and had identity documents with him. However, he tried to enter the EU outside the established checkpoints.

Border guards drew up a report on the detainee.

It should be noted that since the beginning of this year, border guards of the Lviv detachment have detained more than 130 Turkish citizens in 62 cases for attempting to illegally violate the state border.
