Several days ago border guards of “Uzhorod” border guard division, Chop border guard detachment, stopped two attempts of illegal border crossing outside border crossing points.

After receiving information about presence of unknown persons near the border, border guards caught 4 unknown persons up at the distance of 300 metres from the state border in few minutes. But the travellers obviously didn’t want to part from their dreams of living in the EU and tried to escape. So in the course of detention the border guards had to make a warning shot up. But even after detention the men continued resisting and making threats against border guards.

As a result of the detention, four men without documents, who claimed to be the citizens of Georgia, were delivered to a border guard unit for clarifying the circumstances of the offense and drawing up administrative and procedural documents.

Another man, citizen of Somalia, tried to get to Slovakia on the same border sector and was also detained after triggering of signal system.
