The Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary, in response to the changes introduced by the Hungarian Government on April 2, 2020 has issued recommendations for transit to Ukrainians returning home through this country.

The Embassy's message, in particular, states that citizens of Ukraine are allowed to transit by all types of vehicles:

- FROM SLOVENIA via the Pince - Tornyiszentmiklos border crossing point.

At all border crossing points, travel is only allowed AFTER THE MEDICAL CHECK-UP (in case of suspected coronavirus infection the entrance will be denied).

Travel across the territory of Hungary is allowed by the DEFINED TRANSIT ROUTE as quickly as possible.

STOPS within the framework of using the transit corridor should take place in the minimum necessary for crossing number of countries, at the rest areas and gas stations designated by the authorities.

The TIMING of the transit via humanitarian corridors across the territory of Hungary is determined from 21.00 until 05.00 daily.

The CONTROL of compliance with the rules of transit is carried out by the civilian and military police.

From 02.04.2020, the right of entry to Hungary for the purpose of transit, without the prior permission of the Hungarian side, belong to the citizens of Ukraine, citizens of neighbouring with Hungary countries, as well as citizens of countries with which bilateral agreements on humanitarian transit through the territory of Hungary were signed (Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia and Moldova).

Citizens of other countries, including those who cross the border for the purpose of performing humanitarian transit transportation of Ukrainian citizens through the territory of Hungary, MUST CONTACT the Hungarian National Police Headquarters to OBTAIN A SPECIAL PERMIT to enter by contacting: [email protected].
