How to Cross the Border with Romania!?

It should be noted that it is possible to cross the border with Romania at the abovementioned BCPs only by means of vehicles.

According to information provided by Romanian law enforcement officers, entry of foreigners and stateless persons into the territory of Romania through the border crossing points is prohibited, except when they are transiting through the territory of Romania via transit corridor organised in cooperation with other countries.

Only foreigners and stateless persons of the following categories are allowed to enter Romania:

a) family-members of the Romanian citizens;

b) family-members of the citizens of other Member States of the European Union or of the European Economic Area or of the Swiss Confederation with their place of residence in Romania;

c) persons holding a long-stay visa, residence permit or a document equivalent to a residence permit issued by the Romanian authorities in accordance with Government Urgent Decree No. Regulation (EC) No 194/2002 on the regime of foreigners in Romania reprinted, as amended, or equivalent, issued by the authorities of other States, in accordance with European Union law;

d) persons moving in the professional interest, confirmed with a visa, residence permit or other equivalent document;

e) diplomatic or consular personnel, personnel of international organizations, military personnel or personnel capable of providing humanitarian assistance;

e) transit passengers, including those repatriated as a result of consular protection;

g) passengers traveling for imperative purposes (medical or family);

g) persons seeking international protection or traveling for other humanitarian purposes.

At present only Ukrainian citizens who return to the territory of Ukraine and the abovementioned categories of persons heading to the territory of Romania are being processed at the border with Romania at the automobile BCPs "Diakove" and "Porubne".

It should be noted that it is possible to cross the border with Romania at the abovementioned BCPs only by means of vehicles, as the pedestrian crossing is not allowed due to the fact that the pedestrian connection is suspended (according to the CMU Order of March 13, 2020 No. 288 -p).

The following persons are allowed to enter Ukraine: citizens of Ukraine; persons entitled to permanent or temporary residence in Ukraine, are spouses or children of Ukrainian citizens, employees of foreign diplomatic missions and consular offices accredited in Ukraine, representations of official international missions, organizations accredited in Ukraine, and their family-members; drivers and service personnel of freight vehicles, crew members. (The entry into Ukraine of other categories of foreigners and stateless persons is processed in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.)

Citizens of other countries and stateless persons will not be able to enter Ukraine.
