Recently, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment, together with customs officers, thwarted an attempt of illegal transportation of gold jewelry.

A Ukrainian couple, heading to Budapest, attempted to conceal the gold jewelry. The Ukrainians arrived at the "Vylok" checkpoint in a Volkswagen car. Due to the nervous behavior of the couple and the fact that the vehicle fell under known risk profiles, the border guards decided to conduct a thorough inspection.

During a joint border and customs inspection, approximately 100 polyethylene bags containing gold jewelry were found in the pockets and on the bodies of the man and his wife. All the things had price tags.

Currently, the gold products have been confiscated according to established procedures, and their weight and estimated value are being determined.
