“GENDER BUDGETING IN UKRAINE”. PRACTICAL TRAINING IS OVER

On August 5, 2020, as a result of the training, all members of the interdepartmental working group received the relevant certificates, including representatives of the border agency.

In the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation on the application of gender-oriented approach in the budget process, concluded between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the NIRAS SwedenAB consortium, experts of the Gender Budgeting in Ukraine Project conducted theoretical and practical classes with officers and employees of bodies and units of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which were included in the interdepartmental working group from March to August 2020.

Specialists from the Gender Equality Sector of the Integrity Department, the Financial and Economic Department, the Personnel Management Department and the Logistics Department participated in the training course on “Gender-Oriented Approach in the Budget Process” on behalf of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, analysed budget programs and developed recommendations on the inclusion of gender aspects in these budget programs for future periods.

On August 5, 2020, as a result of the training, all members of the interdepartmental working group received the relevant certificates, including representatives of the border agency.

During the ceremonial part while delivering certificates, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko said: “The results of the analysis of budget programs showed that there are gender gaps and they affect the quality of service delivery and service conduction. Therefore, our task is to ensure equal rights and opportunities”.
