The Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine hosted an online presentation of Methodological Recommendations on the Integration of Gender Approaches into the Training System for the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine.

Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Equality, Serhii Serdiuk, Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Serhii Biliavets, Deputy Rector (Vice-Rector) of the National Academy for Academic Work took part in this event and congratulated all participants, Halyna Meshcheriakova, UN Project Women Manager and the team of authors of the Guidelines.

Institutionalization of gender approaches in the educational process of higher education institutions of the security and defense sector of Ukraine is an important area of state gender policy, which is defined in the National Action Plan to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 "Women, Peace, Security" until 2025 (paragraph 8) and Annual national program under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission for 2021.

Preparation and publication of Guidelines for the integration of gender approaches into the training system for the security and defense sector of Ukraine is a logical stage in the development of gender policy in the security and defense sector of Ukraine, which is consistently carried out in Ukraine. The implementation of the Guidelines is part of an integrated approach to European and Euro-Atlantic integration in national policy and contains practical advice on the necessary components of the process and a certain algorithm of actions to initiate it.
