On October 16, a working meeting was held between the leadership of the border guard agencies of Ukraine, Moldova and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency FRONTEX.

During the meeting, the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko, the Executive Director of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency FRONTEX Mr. Hans Leitens and the Deputy Head of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Diana Salkutsan discussed further development of cooperation between the border guard agencies of Ukraine and Moldova with FRONTEX.

The Head of the State Border Guard Service, Serhii Deineko, informed about the role and place of the State Border Guard Service in the structure of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The Head of the Border Guard Agency of Ukraine also thanked the FRONTEX Agency and Moldovan border guards for their reliable support of Ukrainians and solidarity in the face of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country into the territory of our state.

In addition, Major General Serhii Deineko presented a sector of the state border equipped to meet today's security challenges. Since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the fortification, engineering and technical component of the border infrastructure has been significantly increased in the area of the Southern Regional Directorate: were arranged defensive positions, anti-transportation ditches, control and trace strips, video surveillance systems, etc.. Special attention was paid to the Pridnestrovian sector of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.

At the working meeting, it was emphasized that engineering and technical equipment of the border is highly effective in preventing illegal activities and counteracting their manifestations, as well as in ensuring the security component.
