A group of illegal migrants trying to reach neighbouring Slovakia outside the BCP was detained by border guards from the Chop Border Guard Detachment. Serviceman of the Uzhhorod border guard division found them while patrolling a mountainous section of the border near the village of Huta, Uzhhorod district.

The border guard detail noticed unknown people while overcoming a snow-covered fence. Strangers tried to hide in the woods, but within a few minutes they were detained by border guards.

Men between 25 and 39 had Algerian passports. During the conversation, the travellers tried to convince the border guard detail that they were at the border for tourism and were going to Uzhhorod, but they moved in a completely different direction.

The detainees were taken to the border unit. Once the circumstances of the case are established, they will be prosecuted.

It should be reminded that last weekend illegal migrants from North Africa were detained by border guards of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment together with Romanian colleagues. A citizen of Morocco and two citizens of Tunisia tried to travel illegally.
