Border guards of the Chop Border Guard Detachment prevented the illegal intentions of four offenders who attempted to cross into Slovakia through the mountains.

They were detained during border control measures by the patrol of the "Stuzhytsia" Border Guard Division in collaboration with operational staff from the Chop Border Guard Detachment. Three of the violators were moving as a group, while the fourth was traveling alone.

All four turned out to be local residents, citizens of Ukraine of conscription age. The men could not explain the purpose of their presence near the border and later confessed that they were heading through the mountains to Slovakia to then reach the Czech Republic and Germany, where their fellow villagers live.

The detained individuals were taken to the border guard unit to clarify all the circumstances of the offense and to face administrative responsibility for attempting to illegally cross the border. The cases will be referred to court.
