Militaries of the Chop border guard detachment detained a group of foreigners who were trying to get to Slovakia illegally, and a few hours later another person who was traveling alone.

The Border Patrol, which also included cadets from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detected three unknown Asian men on the outskirts of Uzhhorod. Two of them had passports of Indian citizens, and the third had a certificate from the State Migration Service of Ukraine on the loss of passport documents of an Iraqi citizen.

A few hours later, another offender was detained in the same direction. An operational officer of the border guard detachment noticed a suspicious person moving in the direction of Slovakia. Together with the response team sent from ‘Uzhhorod’ border guard department, the servicemen managed to detain the man 350 meters from the border. He was not carrying any documents and said that he was a citizen of Nepal. In the course of verification measures, law enforcement officers found out that this was not the first time the foreigner had tried to cross the border illegally. At the end of January this year, he was detained at the site of the Uzhhorod border guard department when he was trying to get to the EU as part of a group of people.

In order to clarify all the circumstances of the offense, the foreigners were taken to the border guard unit.

The cases of the foreigners will be brought to court.
