During the March border checkpoint at the state border checkpoints, border guards stopped more than 70 attempts to obtain illegal benefits.

62 citizens of Ukraine and 11 foreigners tried to bribe law enforcement officers. Among the bribe-givers were persons whose right to travel abroad was restricted during martial law.

The total amount of funds they tried to offer to the border guards in national and foreign currency amounted to more than 1.3 million hryvnias.

In all cases, the servicemen flatly refused the offered funds, took the necessary measures to document the facts of bribery attempts and informed the National Police.

The State Border Guard Service reminds that an offer, promise or provision of illegal benefit to an official, as well as acceptance of such promise, offer or receipt of illegal benefit by an official is an offense for which the law provides for criminal liability.

In addition, we ask citizens not to label dishonesty on all border guards, law enforcement officers, civil servants, and in case you become a participant or witness of illegal actions at the state border, immediately notify the SBGS.
