Last night during patroling the area of responsibility of the department "Korytnytsia" of Lviv detachment, a mobile border post "Lviv" disclosed a car "UAZ" in the forest belt, which was driving toward the border.

At the request of the State Border Guard Service militaries to stop, the driver did not react to it, but picked up speed of the car. Border guards immediately began pursuit. Fleeing, perpetrators drove into a thicket, set fire to their vehicle, and ran away.

The car burst into flame immediately and burned along with the goods. According to the preliminary estimation, there were about 20 boxes of cigarettes "Minsk" made in Belarus without excise stamps, which the perpetrators might plan to convey across the border illegally from Ukraine to Poland. The number plate also revealed that the car belonged to a resident of Volyn region.

To search for fugitives, border guards reported to the neighboring units of State Border Guard Service and the representatives of the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine. The border guards extinguished the car as well as the remnants of packages of cigarettes and placed them under control of the representatives of the National Police. Currently, the search for offenders has been continuing.
