In the Chernivtsi region, the border guards disrupted another smugglers’ scheme who were trying to deliver tobacco products to Romania by two jeeps

During the implementation of anticipatory information, operatives of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment, together with the border detail of the "Falkiv" division, detected nine men who were transporting cigarettes in two cross-terrain vehicles – Chevrolet and Nissan.

The offenders were detected in one of the mountainous regions near the state border. There were five minor boys among them.

There were 18 packages of tobacco products without Ukrainian excise in the cars. The preliminary estimate of the seized 9,000 packs of cigarettes is over UAH 400,000.

A notification about the detection of that criminal offense has been sent to the National Police.
