The 55-year-old fugitive from mobilization was stopped along with the smuggler in Transcarpathia near the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by the border guards of the «Vylok» department of the Mukachevo detachment.

The men were detained thanks to provided in advance information by operatives of the detachment, regarding a possible violation of the border.

The smuggler, a resident of Transcarpathia, having «armed himself» with a night vision device, intended, together with his «client», a resident of the Kharkiv region, to bypass the border details and indicate to the fugitive the place where he had to illegally cross the state border.

As in the proposed place. the border runs along the Tisza River, the Transcarpathian provided the Kharkiv resident with a wetsuit, and so that he did not realize how dangerous it was to cross the rapid, cold and full-water river, and did not refuse to swim across it, he assured that in order to avoid an unwanted meeting with border details, it is necessary to cross the state border in the dark. The «assistant» estimated his services at 3,000 US dollars.

The offenders were detained 600 meters from the border. They were issued administrative reports for attempting to cross the border illegally. In addition, the border guards sent a report to the National Police about the detection of crime signs in the actions of the Transcarpathian.
