Protecting the border is an extremely responsible task. Not everyone can detect weapons, drugs and cigarettes, or detain the violator.

And irreplaceable assistants, loyal and reliable partners – service dogs, will always come to the aid of border guards.

No division of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine can do without these tailed guards. The four-legged border guards are trained in a Dog Training Center.

So, more than 130 dog handlers and their pets successfully completed their training and passed the final exams. These are young men and women who, at the call of their hearts, decided to become dog handlers and combined their lives with the protection of state borders.

The training lasted up to 6 months. During this time, border guards mastered the profession of a dog handler and became real professionals in their field, and four-legged "cadets" learned to identify weapons, drugs and cigarettes, as well as detain violators.
