On the basis of the Training Center for Combating the Proliferation of Mass Destruction Weapons of the State Border Guard Service Main Center, a training “Methods for the identification of dangerous substances” was held.

The event was attended by the servicemen of the Department of State Security of Ukraine.

During the training, representatives of the department had the opportunity to improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the use of equipment for detection and identification of radioactive materials, chemicals and hazardous toxic substances.

Continuous deepening of professional knowledge in the detection of hazardous substances and radioactive materials is a necessary component of anti-terrorist training of the State Security Service of Ukraine servicemen, whose tasks include ensuring the security of public authorities and officials under state protection.

This event is an example of effective and exemplary cooperation between Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in combating the non-proliferation of mass destruction weapons and their components and provides an opportunity to effectively combat international terrorism.

Feedback from the participants testified to their professional skills and confirmed the compliance of the Training Center for Combating the Proliferation of Mass Destruction weapons with IAEA international standards, including its modern training facilities and the experience of the center's teachers.
