Border guards of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Border Guard Detachment detained a man for attempting to smuggle individuals liable for military service across the state border.

During the verification of information received from the operational officers, it was discovered that a resident of Odessa region decided to earn "easy money" using a private Telegram channel to provide services of unhindered border crossing.

The 73-year-old citizen of Ukraine resorted to tricks to implement his unlawful intentions. At first, he instructed two potential border violators to arrive in Odessa, take a hotel room, and wait for his call.

In addition to it, the organizer forged some documents necessary for border crossing. He made false travel orders so that the men could go to the port located in the town of Reni.

The offenders were supposed to pay him $4500 USD each for such “services”.

Currently, the case of detecting signs of a criminal offense under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been reported to the National Police.

Operatives from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Podilskyi border guard detachments conducted these operational measures to prevent the smuggling of people across the state border.
