The servicemen of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment prevented several attempts to illegally cross the border in the framework of the operational and preventive measures “Rubizh – 2022” during the day.

As a result, 7 male conscripts and a woman were detained. Despite the fact that all the detainees are residents of the Kharkiv region, they were all detained by border guards at different border sectors. In all cases, the offenders were apprehended due to the advance information received from the officers of the operational investigative departments. The border patrol of Luzhanka Border Guard Division detained one of the Ukrainians while he was trying to overcome the wired fence on the Ukraine-Hungary border. The rest of the wrongdoers were apprehended on the Ukraine-Romania border. Three of them were stopped by the border details of the Tiachiv Border Guard Division: two men were looking for shallow water near the village of Solotvyno; the third one was “armed” with a life jacket preparing to swim on the outskirts of Tiachiv.

It is worth mentioning that recently the fugitives from mobilization are changing the so-called water routes. Due to the worsening of weather conditions and rising water levels in the river of Tysa, they frequently prefer land to water sectors of the border. Thus, three men and a woman from the above-mentioned Kharkiv region, decided to reach the neighboring Romania across the highlands. Their intentions were destroyed by the border guards of Dilove Border Guard Division while implementing intelligence information on possible unlawful activity on that border sector. The detained woman called herself a volunteer, however she refused to explain the functions she was supposed to perform. All four offenders were accused of committing an administrative offense and were drafted protocols. Their unlawful actions will be judged in the court.
