The other day, operatives of the Chop border detachment, together with the National Police, eliminated the sales channel for narcotic substances of plant and synthetic origin

In the course of support to the criminal proceedings, the border guards of the main operative and investigative department of the detachment exposed a network of sales of narcotics in the Uzhgorod district. A total of two episodes of drug sales were documented with participance of four persons.

Realising operational information, a joint interdepartmental group consisting of border guards of the Main Operative and Investigative Department, operatives and investigators of the police department of the Uzhhorod RPD of the State Police in Zakarpattia Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Uzhhorod District Prosecutor's Office, detained three local residents in their homes immediately during the sale of narcotic substances. In their homes, the defendants manufactured, packaged and sold drugs of plant and synthetic origin.

During the search, the law enforcement officers, in addition to narcotic substances, discovered and seized self-made means for their production, packaging bags, electronic scales, mobile phones and identity documents. Also, at the place of detention, they found draft notes with information on the number of rolls, their weight, price per unit and cash in the amount of 54,800 hryvnias, 765 euros and 655 US dollars.

Two participants in the criminal proceedings were charged with a criminal offence.
