A memorandum of cooperation between the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the NGO Women's Information and Consulting Center was signed today in Kyiv by Serhii Deineko, the Head of the Border Guard Service, and Olena Suslova, Chairman of the Board of the Women's Information and Consulting Center.

The goal of the signed Memorandum is cooperation aimed at conducting educational and informational activities on the dissemination and study of international and national documents on the implementation of the principle of gender equality in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In particular, the main areas of cooperation are dissemination of knowledge on the principle of gender equality and the basics of its application by the personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, training in the format of classroom lessons (if necessary online) for various categories of service personnel and civilian employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In addition, assistance in conducting trainings at educational institutions and units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine with the involvement of leading Ukrainian scientists in this field, holding joint conferences, panel discussions and other events, cooperation in monitoring activities for gender equality.

It is worth noting that the Women's Information and Counseling Center (ICWC), which was established as a non-governmental non-profit organization in 1995, is active in strengthening the role of women in peacebuilding and their participation in state-building processes.

In addition, the Center has developed and implemented trainings and educational programs “Anti-Discrimination”, “Conflict Prevention and Resolution, Culture of Peace, Involvement of Women in Peacekeeping Processes”, “Mediation”, “Strategic Planning”, “Gender Integration in Local Development Programs”. as well as such projects as “Territorial Safety Audit”, “Distinction and Anti-Label of Gender Equilibrium”, “Gender Monitoring of Legislation”, etc.
