During the course of counteracting criminal activities at the border, operatives of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine exposed the channel of drug smuggling.

Prohibited substances were transported to Ukraine from Asia. The organizers of the criminal scheme were two residents of Dnipro.

Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region started criminal proceedings under Art. 305 of the Criminal Code "Smuggling of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit drugs".

Recently an investigative operative group consisting of officers of the operational border guard units of the Eastern Regional Directorate, investigators of the SSU in Dnipropetrovsk region, under the procedural leadership of the prosecutor's office of Dnipropetrovsk region, conducted authorized searches in the city of Dnipro.

The security of the investigators was provided by the special guards of the DOZOR border guard unit.

As a result of these actions, law enforcement officers seized more than 5,000 packages of various potent psychotropic substances and medicines.

Investigation measures are ongoing.
