Soldiers of the Chop detachment detained three Czech citizens who were trying to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border.

The three unknown men were detected in the morning by a border patrol that was on duty at the Chop (Strazh) railway cargo checkpoint on the border with Slovakia. Law enforcement officers noticed three men walking along the tracks toward the border. The detainees were carrying passports of Czech citizens.

During the interrogation, the detachment's operatives found out that the foreigners had arrived in Ukraine legally to attend the wedding of an acquaintance and settled in a hotel complex near the border.  After the wedding ceremony, they had a conflict with the husband of the woman who invited them and the hotel administration. The foreigners were asked to leave the establishment, so they decided to return home. Since none of them had any money on them at the time, they decided to go towards Slovakia on foot and bypass the checkpoints.

The foreigners planned their route using online maps. To avoid getting lost, they walked along the railroad tracks. When the men entered the territory of the checkpoint, they were stopped by a border patrol.

The offenders were taken to the temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. After establishing all the circumstances of the offense, they will be brought to justice for attempting to illegally cross the border and violating the border regime.
