The constant threat of using non-conventional means of destruction by the enemy, which can lead to radiation, chemical and biological incidents, requires all components of the Security and Defense Forces sector to prepare in advance.

Recently, as part of the implementation and with the support of the international technical assistance program "Detection and cessation of nuclear smuggling", a training was held for the radiation, chemical and biological protection units management of the State Border Guard Service with the involvement of employees of the Armed Forces, the Security Service, the National Guard and the National Police.

The event was chaired by the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksii Soloviov.

During this training, the participants discussed the interaction procedure of the security and defense forces in the field of radiation, chemical and biological protection, ways to improve the system of combating weapons of mass destruction, the state of providing basic personal protective equipment, antidotes and radio protectors.

In addition, the participants exchanged experience in matters of providing radiation, chemical and biological protection, obtained during the implementation of the tasks of ensuring national security and defense, repelling and deterring armed aggression of the russian federation.

At the training, the border agency also organized a demonstration of the ability to counter "nuclear smuggling" and actions in the event of radiation, chemical, biological, and nuclear threats, as well as a presentation of modern means of defense against nuclear weapons by Ukrainian companies.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine constantly implements innovative approaches to combat illegal activities and external aggression, is reformed and rearmed according to EU and NATO standards.
