Counterfeit excise stamps and hookah tobacco were found in the Black Sea port

During the verification of the available information, the border guards of the Odesa border guard detachment detected an attempt to illegally import excise stamps and hookah tobacco into Ukraine.

A vehicle with cargo “consumer goods” arrived in the Black Sea port from Turkey. As part of the verification of information on the possible fact of illegal activity, an in-depth inspection of the vehicle and cargo was conducted.

Among the cargo, law enforcement officers found almost 5 million excise stamps and 3.4 thousand packs of hookah tobacco. Thus, the dealer planned to deliver 340 blocks of hookah tobacco, 16 boxes of excises for tobacco products of Ukrainian and foreign production and 4 boxes of excise tax stamps for vodka products to the capital.

Thanks to the coordinated cooperation of border guards of the Odesa border guard detachment, customs officers and the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, it was possible to block the attempt to get counterfeit products into Ukraine.
