The State Border Guard Service is continuing measures to combat criminal offenses among personnel.

Thus, during 2020, 33 servicemen of the Department were detained for corruption violations. Due to the skillful actions of the internal security officers, 23 bribe-takers were revealed and caught red-handed.

In total, according to the State Border Guard Service's internal and internal security units, more than 200 reports of corruption offenses against both border guards and civilians who tried in vain to involve border guards in illegal activities were entered into the Unified Register of the Pre-trial Investigations last year.

In 2020, 36 officials involved in pre-trial investigations as for corruption offenses were suspected. Another 19 “wolves in uniform” were convicted of corruption.

It should be noted that the work to eliminate corruption in the Agency is also carried out in close cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigations officials, Security Service and National Police operational units, under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the military and defense spheres. This is due to certain norms of criminal procedure legislation, which are the lack of authority to enter information into the Unified Register of the Pre-trial Investigations and initiate criminal proceedings by operational units of the State Border Guard Service.
