“COSSACK MACE – 2021”

Currently, border guards of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovsk Border Guard Detachment of the Southern Regional Directorate continue to prepare for this event.

In the summer of 2021, it is planned to hold large-scale Ukrainian-British training “COSSACK MACE – 2021”. Representatives of the United Kingdom, the United States, Denmark, Sweden, and Canada will take part in the multinational training, together with representatives of the Armed Forces and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The event will be organized by Great Britain and Ukraine on the basis of one of the training centres of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Currently, border guards of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovsk Border Guard Detachment of the Southern Regional Directorate continue to prepare for this event. Last week, representatives of the State Border Guard Service took part in the final conference on training planning. It was conducted under the leadership of the Training Command of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of a multiservice training centre for units and military bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During conference the use of forces and means of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Great Britain and the Border Command of Rapid Response were discussed. As well as logistical calculations, the order of organization and communication between the units of the Armed Forces, NATO and the State Border Guard Service, the scenario of hostilities.

Representatives of the UNIFIER military training operation specifically raised the issue of planning future exercises in the study of the military decision-making process in accordance with NATO standards, as well as the tasks and training objectives to be faced by units in defence and offensive.

The goal of the joint multinational project “COSSACK MACE – 2021” is to improve the compatibility between the British military formations and the Armed Forces of Ukraine by strengthening relations, joint planning and execution of operations, improving the planning and conduct of battalion-tactical training, coordination of military units of Ground Forces of Ukraine and NATO units during defensive and offensive operations, as well as the integration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine into joint operations.
