The border guards of the Chonhar BG division detected two more poachers on a small vessel with a catch of 30,000 hryvnias on the coast of the Utliutskyi estuary.

During the implementation of the information of the operative officers from the Kherson BG detachment, near the settlement of Krasne, the border guards of the Skadovsk BG division together with representatives of the Kherson fishery protecting patrol detected a citizen of Ukraine who was illegally fishing aquatic living bioresources on a small vessel.

With the help of a fishing net, the poacher caught 3 beluga fish, 3 flounder fish, 1 sturgeon fish and 14 crabs, which are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. The total amount of losses to the state is more than 1 million 118 thousand hryvnias.

In both cases, the actions of offenders have the criminal offense signs under Art. 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal fishing, animal or other water extractive industry”.

It should be mentioned that on March 20, 2021, operational and preventive measures “Coast-2021” began in order to prevent the violations of the state border regime, the border area regime and to counteract illegal catching of the living aquatic. The activities are carried out in cooperation with the State Environmental Inspectorate, The State Agency for Fisheries and the National Police.
