The detected packages were delivered to the border division for recalculation of the contents.

The results of active counteraction to illegal placement of tobacco products in the framework of the joint border operation "Carpathians – 2021" were supplemented by the situation on the site of the Chernivtsi border detachment.

Recently, during the implementation of information from employees of internal and own security of the State Border Guard Service, the Joint Border Patrol of the Krasnoilsk BG Department, the C-type BG Division of the Chernivtsi BG detachment and the National Guard servicemen detected the movement of a group of people in the direction of the state border. Unknown people moved packages of tobacco products. When trying to detain the persons, they resorted to fleeing deep into the territory of Ukraine, leaving 13 boxes in place.

Upon detection of illegal actions, the border guards took appropriate measures to cover the border and informed their Romanian colleagues, who, for their part, did not record any violations of the border.

The detected packages were delivered to the border division for recalculation of the contents.

The total number of tobacco products was 12,100 packs. Subsequently, the cigarettes will be handed over to the National Police officers in the relevant criminal proceedings.
