Being the part of the Defense Forces, the border guards continue to defend the country and conduct control and inspection procedures aimed at combating illicit trafficking of weapons.

In particular, the other day the border guards stopped a car for inspection at one of the checkpoints. During the inspection of the car the servicemen found weapons and a considerable amount of ammunition.

The driver was a Ukrainian national. He explained that a relative from Kharkiv region, whom he visited recently, gave him these trophies.

Currently, the weapons and ammunition have been confiscated. Among the confiscated items there were F-1 and RGD grenades with fuses, a VOG-17 round, a VOG-25 round, more than thirty cartridges of various calibers, a magazine for SVD sniper rifle, an EKOL Lady traumatic pistol and 9 bullets for it.

The person was handed over to the National Police for further investigation.
