Garmin Alpha100 GPS navigators with advanced T5 service dog tracking system allow you to track up to 20 dogs at a distance of up to 15 km at a time and see their movement in real time.

The equipment also allows you to remotely control or encourage the dog with vibration and sound signals, and thanks to the light indicator, the dog trainer can track his four-legged assistant at night.

Cadets-cynologists studied the tactical and technical characteristics of devices and software and learned to use GPS-navigators. Also, the Department of Cynology of the Border Guard Academy is currently working to improve the method of training service dogs with the use of these devices.

It will be recalled that the National Academy of the SBGS received modern GPS-navigator kits as part of the international technical assistance project “Support to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in Preventing and Combating Illicit Trafficking in Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives” with OSCE assistance.
