Borderguards of the Chop border guard detachment detained a group of foreigners who intended to enter the European Union illegally

The offenders were identified according to information provided in advance by the operative-search department of the borderguard detachment.

As a result of the measures taken by the operatives, it was established that the foreigners arrived in Uzhhorod by train and immediately went to the state border. Additional squads from the Uzhhorod borderguard department and officers of the operative-search unit were sent to the area of possible border crossing.

The offenders were detained on the outskirts of Uzhhorod, 100 meters from the border. The detainees turned out to be Somali citizens and had temporary residence permits in Ukraine. According to law enforcement officers, the foreigners arrived in our country in accordance with the established procedure, as if to study at one of the universities.

The detainees were taken to the border unit to compile the case file on an administrative offense. Once all the circumstances of the case have been verified, they will be brought to administrative responsibility.
