Border guards’ service dog found more than 130 artillery shells of the Second World War

In the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, service dogs carry out extremely important and dangerous tasks of detecting weapons and ammunition, narcotic substances, and searching for mines and explosives.
Border guards had special training on searching for explosive objects with service dogs near the city of Podilsk in Odesa region. While searching for the training object placement, the four-legged assistant of border guards Yorna pointed to the spot where there were no hidden items.
Border guard sappers checked the place and found 131 artillery shells of the Second World War at a depth of about 15 cm.
Border guards took immediately under guard the area where the dangerous items were found and notified representatives of the State Emergencies Service.
