Two attempts to smuggle tobacco have been stopped at the EU border.

Thus, on February 13, border guards from Falkiv and Selyatyn BG Divisions prevented two attempts to move cigarettes to Romania.

In both cases, with the border guards apparition, unknown people fled, leaving their burdens with tobacco products. Straightening up from the weight of the smuggled cargo, the packers dozed deep into the territory of Ukraine with such force that it was as if they had the finish of the Olympic sprint ahead of them. Even the warning shots in the air did not make them stop.

As a result of counting the contents of the abandoned packages, it was established that the offenders tried to move more than 7,000 packs of cigarettes without excise tax.

According to preliminary estimates, the value of the seized goods reaches about 280 thousand hryvnias.

Packages of tobacco products were delivered to the border units. Currently there are being taken measures to identify those involved in attempts to smuggle cigarettes across the border.
