On October 25, near the border with Romania, border guards chased a group of cigarettes smugglers.

Having received information from the Border Guard Patrol “observation post” about the movement of unknown persons towards the state border, the response team left the unit. Soon the cigarettes smugglers were detected. During the pursuit of the fugitives, the border guards of Falkiv division fired several warning shots, but this did not stop them, however the fugitives left their goods.

In total, the smugglers left 2.4 thousand packs of tobacco products of various names without excise stamps.

Moreover, since the beginning of October, the border guards of Chernivtsi border guard detachment in 20 cases have deprived the smugglers off about 100 thousand packs of tobacco contraband, which the offenders tried to move to the EU countries.
