The trainings were held on the territory of Slovakia - on the basis of the border control section "Vyshnye Nemetske".

They were attended by more than 20 representatives of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as well as border guards of Slovakia.

The events were held in two stages: September 26 and 27, as well as October 10 and 11. The representatives of both countries, who are directly involved in the service as part of joint patrols, were invited to the events in order to improve their practical knowledge and theoretical skills.

Ukrainian and Slovak border guards worked out in practice some issues related to the organization and conduct of joint patrols and cooperation. In addition, during the theoretical training, the participants were familiarized with the legislation of the Schengen zone countries, the powers of law enforcement officers during detention and the use of special equipment and weapons, the rules for providing first aid.

We note that such joint patrols are carried out both on the territory of Ukraine and on the territory of the Slovak Republic in order to effectively combat the illegal crossing of the Ukrainian-Slovak state border outside checkpoints by persons, vehicles, the illegal movement of goods, as well as the exchange of experience between the border guards of both countries . At the same time, only the border guards of the country whose territory is being patrolled are on duty with weapons and special equipment.

It should be noted that with the beginning of the full-scale russian attack on Ukraine, this practice was suspended. However, joint patrols with Slovak colleagues will soon be resumed.
