BORDER GUARDS OF SPECIAL UNITS IMPROVED THEIR SKILLS IN TACTICAL MEDICINE

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to be reformed according to EU and NATO standards.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to be reformed according to EU and NATO standards.

Within a framework of the implementation of joint with the Government of the United States of America international technical assistance projects, a set of training courses on tactical medicine was conducted for soldiers of the 10th Mobile Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.  The events were held under the leadership of the All-Ukrainian Council of Resuscitation.

The complex of tactical medicine was conducted according to the TSSS, Control Bleeding, BLS protocols and the Instructor Course was conducted for the certain category of servicemen.

The program of training according to the TSSS-MP protocol (Tactical Combat Casualty Care-Medical Personal) included working out the following questions and introductory:

1. Stopping and control of massive bleeding (use of turnstiles), work in the CUF area (assistance under enemy fire);

2. Ensuring airway patency (NPA, cricothyrotomy), work in the TFC area (assistance in tactical conditions);

3. Breathing control (intense pneumothorax, needle decompression, occlusive sticker), work in the TFC area (assistance in tactical conditions);

4. Provision of I / O (I / O) access, infusion therapy, diagnosis and treatment of shock, fractures, burns, analgesia, work in the TFC area (assistance in tactical conditions);

5. Brain injuries, prevention of hypothermia;

6. TACEVAC, sorting the wounded;

7. Providing assistance to enemy prisoners;

8. Evacuation of the wounded;

9. Compilation of theoretical and practical tests.

The program of the training course according to the "BLS" protocol (Basic Life Support) included the following topics:

1. Algorithm for first aid;

2. Practice of practical skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of an automatic defibrillator;

3. Compilation of practical tests.

The program of the training course according to the B-CON protocol (Bleeding control) included the following topics:

1. Algorithm to stop bleeding in daily life;

2. Types and signs of different ways to stop bleeding.

The program of the Instructor's course included:

1. Generation of organizational plan for carrying out the courses;

2. Preparation of training facilities;

3. Methods of carrying out lectures and practical classes;

4. Work with the audience.

5. Compilation of practical tests.

In general, a set of tactical medicine courses completed successfully 40 DOZOR servicemen.

15 officials passed the Intensive Instructor's course and received the corresponding certificates.
