BORDER GUARDS LIQUIDATED THE CHANNEL OF ILLEGAL MIGRATION OF ASIA NATIVES

The searches were conducted at 9 addresses of persons involved in criminal proceedings in Kyiv, Chernivtsi and settlements of Tiachiv and Khust districts of Transcarpathian region.

Authorized searches took place in the framework of criminal proceedings under Article 332 of the Criminal Code "Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine." The proceedings were opened on the basis of the materials of the Main Operational and Search Department of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment.

Police found out that the organizers of the channel had established illegal transit through Ukraine to the EU of people from Asian countries. For the transfer of each illegal immigrant dealers took from 3 to 6 thousand US dollars. The operatives of the State Border Guard Service established that since November 2020, through this channel, the organizers have been trying to smuggle more than twenty illegal migrants who came to Ukraine as students to Hungary and Romania. Seven groups of illegals were detained by border guards of the Mukachevo BG detachment.

During the investigation were established the addresses of residence of members of the criminal group who organized the channel of illegal transportation across the state border of illegal migrants from Asia to the European Union. Authorized searches took place this morning. They were conducted by an interdepartmental group of officers of the Main Operational and Search Department of the Mukachevo Border Detachment, the Migration Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Transcarpathian region and SSU officers in Transcarpathian region. Investigative and operational measures were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian regional Prosecutor's Office.

During the searches, evidence of illegal activities of the defendants was found and seized: electronic media, radio stations, a notebook with draft records of the suspects, mobile phones and large sums of money in various currencies. Documents and invitations for education to Afghan citizens, packages with an unknown dark substance were also found.

So far, two people involved in the criminal case have been declared suspected of committing a crime. Urgent investigative actions are underway.

If the suspects are proven guilty, they face imprisonment for a term of five to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
